Hemeroteca offers one of the most large national collections of Portuguese newspapers and magazines, dating from the 18th century but mainly from 1931 (when the Library started to benefit from the Legal Deposit), covering all fields of knowledge. Currently it has nearly 18 thousand titles of Portuguese and foreign periodicals, microfilms, and books on Journalism and Media Studies.
